Each year we have always wanted to combine our holidays with our favourite pastime – metal detecting, but have always found this difficult to organise as there was little or no information relating to farms that had both accommodation to offer and above all, fields to explore. So now we have started that process for you and will be adding to the directory all the time.

As we are all aware, it is rare that farm & land owners wish to keep any finds recovered but are always interested in seeing what has been found. They may ask to take a photograph to display on their web site or to show others who stay with them on their farm. We believe it is great for our hobby and out of courtesy it would be a really nice gesture to present your finds at the end of your stay.

To protect the interests of all landowners who grant detecting rights in combination with your holiday, you should always be prepared to show your NCMD or FID membership card which warrants a minimum of £2m Public Liability Insurance cover.

Please be respectful of all our farm owners and do not contact for the purpose of metal detecting only as they are all striving to survive in this economic climate and have agreed to support this service based on a mutual respect of our hobby. There is no guarantee of any finds on each individual farm.
